This 40mm diesel heater exhaust lagging is used to insulate exhaust pipes from 22mm up to 40mm external diameter and is often used with Webasto and Eberspacher air and water heaters installed into vehicles and boats. This would not protect your exhaust pipe from corrosion. High quality heater exhaust pipe is twin skinned stainless steel. Low quality exhaust pipe would be more likely to corrode much faster.
