How to upgrade from a Mini Modulator to an Easy Start Select controller on an Eberspacher Airtronic D2 D4 D4S

Hi guys I have just been looking at the wiring diagrams as I am converting the controller from the ‘mini controller’ to the ‘easystart select’ controller I just bought when you serviced my D4S. At first glance the wiring is very different. In order to avoid a huge rewire what is the quick guide to replacing the mini with the easystart wiring? Thanks

To upgrade to the Easy Start Select or Timer from a Mini Mini Modulator, use the connections below.

Connections (wiring harness – Select controller)

  • Red (pos) – Red

  • Brown (neg) – Brown

  • Blue/White  – Blue/White

Join to each other on the wiring harness

  • Grey/Red and Brown/white (tells the heater to sense temp at heater)

The Yellow wire is no longer used for heater switching, disconnect and individually insulate the remaining controller wires

See wiring diagram in attachments below.

Although the Mini Modultor uses different coloured cables at the controller side of the plug, the core colours you need, red, brown, blue/white should be available on the heater side of the controller connection.

This upgrade is for 'h-kit' Eberspacher Airtronic Heater versions only - see image in attachment below.
